Art Murmurs reviews the craft of games of chance: images, sound, buildings and printed cards. These are the standards every piece is held to.
Independence
- We don’t accept payment, free credit or gifts in exchange for coverage.
- We don’t publish affiliate links, bonus offers or casino rankings.
- Studios and venues don’t see or approve our articles before publication.
- If a writer has a connection to a studio, venue or artist they write about, we say so in the article.
What we review, and what we don’t
We treat a slot game, a casino foyer or a deck of cards as a made object and ask how well it is made. We describe how games look, sound and feel. We don’t give betting advice, compare payouts or encourage anyone to play.
Facts and sources
- Dates, measurements, names and historical claims are checked against primary or reputable sources: architects’ and venue records, museum and library collections, studio documentation and published histories.
- Where sources disagree, we say so rather than pick the more dramatic version.
- Images are our own, used with permission, or openly licensed and credited.
How articles are made
Every article is researched, written and edited by the Art Murmurs team. We use digital tools to help with research and drafting, and every piece is checked and edited by a person before it is published. The byline shows who is responsible for it.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and add a note at the end of the article saying what changed and when. Small typos are fixed without a note. To report an error, email [email protected].
Responsible gambling
Gambling causes real harm to some people. Our articles never present gambling as a way to make money, and every page on this site links to free support. All content is intended for adults.
The archive
Reviews from the original Art Murmurs are kept as published, credited to their writers. We don’t rewrite archived criticism; we only fix broken links and formatting.
