Since arriving from Canada Rob Harris has quickly become a stalwart of the Wellington comedy scene. As well as being a popular MC and comic, he also co-runs the weekly comedy night The Medicine at VKs and has been a judge during the recent Raw Comedy Competition. One thing is certain, this man knows about comedy - there wouldn’t be many performers he hasn’t seen recently and so he seemed like the perfect person to ask for a few hints about who to see each week during the festival:
Week One:
1 - Young Guns at Fringe Bar - I have to promote this one, because I am in this one as the host. Great lineup of up and coming acts!!
2 - Daniel John Smith - Children and Other Mistakes - He is one of my personal favourites and winning best comedian Wellington 2015 is trust testament to his brilliant wordcraft.
3 - Alice Brine - Brinestorm - An interesting look into a scatterbrain's ideas and everyday thoughts. Always worth checking out the Billy T nominees.
4 - Lloyd Langford - he's a funny Welshman making his second appearance (that I know of) at the Comedy Festival, and had a great set at First Laughs.
5 - Matt Stellingwerf - Another Billy T Nominee, this is one of The Medicine's favourite acts from Wellington and we love having him down here any chance we can get.
